The Johns Hopkins Frailty Assessment Calculator is a validated, evidence-based tool designed to assess frailty in older adults. It uses five standardised clinical measurements:
- Unintentional weight loss
- Weakness (grip strength)
- Exhaustion
- Low physical activity
- Slow walking speed
Based on these, the tool generates a score from 0 to 5, categorising individuals as:
- Robust (score 0)
- Pre-frail (score 1–2)
- Frail (score 3–5)
