Our local Pharmacy First campaign aims to build awareness of the support community pharmacists can offer and encourage people to use community pharmacy services for seven common Pharmacy First conditions, highlighting that pharmacists can provide treatment or some prescription medicine, if needed, without needing to see a GP.

Our resources aim to demonstrate how the health service is making it more convenient for people to access care. It will primarily target working age adults (18-40) who may experience minor health conditions, including ethnic minority people and those with disabilities.

NHS Community Pharmacy Contraception Service

Pharmacists can now also initiate or provide the ongoing supply of oral contraception and provide the emergency contraceptive pill for free, alongside an offer to discuss long-term contraception options at the same time.

This page contains a leaflet and posters promoting the Pharmacy First service (A4 and A3) as well as translated posters in Urdu, Romanian, Arabic, Farsi, Gujurati and Hindi, which you can download. A poster and video for the NHS Community Pharmacy Contraception Service is also available to download.

Leaflets and posters have been sent to all GP practices and shared widely across the county to display in public areas.

If you would like to request hard copies of any resources, please contact glicb.enquiries@nhs.net.

Please consider downloading the seven Pharmacy First and Contraception videos from Envisage to display in waiting room screens and across your social media channels.
